Sleep deprivation
We’re going on almost 3 months without a solid 4 hours of sleep. The 1st month, not so bad. I kept saying to myself, this will be over soon enough. I will be back to myself in no time. If #2 was anything like my 1st child, he will be sleeping 9 hours straight in a week or two. Well, it’s not been the case. My husband even thought it was funny to tell me that one of his coworkers has a son just a few months older than ours, and his baby has been sleeping through the night since he was 1.5 months. (well isn’t that just great for them)
I’ve been doing some reading about New Moms, and what they should do to catch up on sleep. This is what I found, 1. Sleep when the baby sleeps. This hasn’t really worked for me, because he conveniently sleeps while I am driving or walking around with him. Both of those, not so good to sleep during. 2. Ask for help. Asking for help, honestly, that would break me. I’m not big on asking someone to come to my hose so I can take a nap. I have tried it in the past, but what ends up happening is that I will be in my room, and all of a sudden he starts crying in another room. Every nursing mom knows what happens when you hear a baby cry. Yes, I am leaking like a faucet. 3. Arrange for help before the baby is born. Well, this wouldn’t have worked because I thought my like would be back to some kind of a schedule by now. I didn’t foresee it being this long to get into the rythem of things.
So what does this tell you? I should probably be napping right now, I see some little eye lids getting very heavy.

Nap when you can…
